Inner Canvas Counseling & Coaching
Therapy

Therapy that fits how you process.

Some people heal through conversation. Some need image, movement, drama, writing, or sound to reach what words can't. We offer both — traditional talk therapy and expressive arts therapy — often woven together.

Two Paths, One Practice

Choose what fits — or let it shift over time.

Traditional Talk Therapy

Conversation-based and relational.

Talk therapy drawing on relational, IFS, narrative, and other approaches — for anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, relationships, and identity work.

Expressive Arts Therapy

When words alone are not enough.

Creative process — image, writing, sound, movement, drama, play — used alongside or instead of conversation. You don't have to be "artistic."

You don't have to choose up front. Your practitioner will follow your lead.

Areas of Focus

Some of the things we hold space for.

  • Sudden, unwelcome change

When life shifts before you were ready.

  • Pathways toward intentional change

Holding the shape of what you want to grow into.

  • Expanding the range of play

More room for response, less collapse into reaction.

  • Resources for trauma recovery

    Trauma-informed, nervous-system-aware, paced with consent.

  • Releasing patterns that no longer serve

Naming the loyalty in a pattern before letting it go.

  • Disorienting dilemmas

Making meaning when familiar frames stop fitting.

  • Anxiety, depression, dysregulation

    Steadier ground, body included.

  • Full expression of grief

Including anticipatory grief and complicated loss.

How Sessions Work

A spacious, paced beginning.

We start with a free consultation to listen for what you're carrying and whether this feels like a good fit. From there, sessions follow your pace — primarily through conversation, with creative modalities available when they'd serve you.

Creative Modalities (when invited)

Offered when wanted, never required:

  • Creative writing & journaling
  • Visual art & collage
  • Sound, voice, & rhythm
  • Embodied movement
  • Serious play & ritual
